AMMI and GGE Stability Analysis of Drought Tolerant Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L) Genotypes for Target Environments

Background: Chickpea is an important nutrient rich food legume cultivated mainly as rainfed crop in arid and semiarid regions of India. Due to changed climatic conditions incidence frequent drought stress events are causing significant yield losses, Methods: In order identify superior locally adaptable genotypes under multi-environment chickpea evaluation trial was conducted five environments with 50 during Rabi, 2021-2022 stability analysis for grain performed by deploying the AMMI (Additive Main Effects Multiplicative Interaction) model GGE (Genotype Genotype Environment) biplot method aim high yielding stable genotypes. Result: The variance (kg ha-1) revealed genotype, environment, G×E interaction indicating presence variability among environments. mean over ranged from 1296 kg/ha (G39) 2222 (G8). G24 exhibited than specific adaptability environment E2 (Palem). results indicated that, E5 (Warangal) identified best suited potential expression yield. Results that G 17exhibited along across locations desirable performance.
